Our organization has many opportunities for members of the Lafayette community to help out. We have four committees, each with various responsibilities that need people who have the desire, the will and the skills enrich Lafayette and West Lafayette.
There are four committees; the Development, Financial, Membership and Grants committee, the Education committee, the Tree committee and the Marketing and Publicity committee. Each of these groups handles a wide variety of tasks and assignments.

1. Development, Financial, Membership and Grants
This group is the trunk of Tree Lafayette, providing the materials for the entire organization to build upon.
The Budget committee is responsible for preparing the annual budget and is developing a five year budget plan.
The Grants committee is in charge of seeking out grants and preparing applications in support of Lafayette Tree Fund, Inc.
The Membership committee oversees the membership program for the LTF and plans membership drives, member benefits, does data tracking and prepares donor and member appreciation events.
The Development committee is in charge of promoting the growth of endowments, corporate giving and planned gift programs. They also develop long-range plans for the LTF and prepare fundraising plans for capitol and other special projects.

2. Education
These people are the seeds of Tree Lafayette. Spreading knowledge and guidance to the adults and children of our community and planting a better tomorrow. This committee is responsible for the development of education programs and materials for the improving of our urban forest. They develop and run workshops, run training programs in our local schools, for area companies and the public at large. Committee members also find and reward members of the community who work to preserve trees.

3. Tree
These people are our branches, reaching out and caring for the trees in our community. They work closely with the Mayor, the City Forester, the City Engineer and the City Tree Advisory Committee.
• Plan for a tree to be planted. This committee is developing a five year planting agenda.
• Plan to prune trees. They are developing a five year pruning plan.
• Plan to mulch trees. This committee is developing a five year mulching plan.
• Plan to water trees. They monitor the rain and develop plans for watering.
• Plan to spray trees. This committee plans to investigate the law for spaying trees with volunteers. They also will spray for harmful insects.
• Create Site Monitors, Project Managers and Neighborhood Stewardship leaders to take charge of the various endeavors.

4. Marketing and Publicity
This committee and its people are the leaves of Tree Lafayette. They spread the good word about our organization and make sure we’re all aware of the other committees are doing.
The Special Events/ Volunteer Recruitment/ Fundraising committee handles the development and implementation of fundraisers and other special events, such as our Arbor Day celebration. They handle media releases; work with volunteer networks as the Boiler Network, the Volunteer Bureau and all individual volunteering persons. They work closely with the Membership committee.
The Marketing/ Webmaster and Publications committee work with hand-out material such as door-hangers, t-shirts, truck signs, promotions, etc. They also run the website where they work to keep Tree Lafayette’s on-line world educational, entertaining, informative and historical.
